Blog 2.6 Back on Track After all of the stress and turmoil that has been fixated with this project, Aidan and I are making progress. There have been so many things that have gone wrong. From Aidan's computer crashing, to the coaches deleting our film off of hudl, this has truly been a project that we have had to persevere through. As for this week, we have been adding more interviews in between games and are continuing to add music as we see fit. At this point we are just trying to refine the video to make it as entertaining as possible. As for the future, we are going to continue to edit and add to our video. We will probably add some memorable photos at the end of the video as well. We believe that all of this will add to the memories that all of us share. We hope that all of this effort will all be worth it when we have something to look back on the season. I'm just really proud of Aidan and I's ability to power through all of these projects to get back on tra...

Welcome back bloggers! Guess what?... The highlight film did end up getting deleted. I guess coach Regan didn't want all our videos all over the hudl page so he just deleted them without asking us... There is some good news however! All of the edits that I made to the videos saved, and all we had to do was reassemble the video. This was actually great news because those edits took foreeeeeeverrrr to do. For this next week we are going to screen record the highlight video from hudl and start editing it on imovie. On imovie, we will be able to add music, effects, and some other videos that we couldn't add on hudl. We are considering putting some photos at the end of the film as well. What do you think about that? Anyways, I'll keep you posted on how this goes!

I am currently not in a good mood. It seems that the highlight film we made on hudl was deleted, probably by a coach... If this is the case, we will probably have to start all over again. Aidan and I are both extremely frustrated with all of this. Hopefully that is not the case and we can continue on. This past week was spent collecting photos for the slide show at the end of the video. Here are some of the photos.                          Next week we will try to add these photos to the film with some music to it. We are considering to do “walk of life” at the end for an inspirational feel. As for the future, we’ll see. Hopefully one of the coaches saved the film we made so we can just continue on with our genius hour. If not, we will just have to persevere like always

After the hectic week that Aidan and I had last week, we are back on our original schedule. This week we collected some interviews from the kulr 8 website for our video. You may be thinking, why the heck would they need interviews for a highlight film? The reason we need these interviews is because before we played Laurel, many of their players said that the first game was a fluke and that they wanted to play us again. The funny thing about that is that we beat them 35-7 in the title game. So let me ask you, did they really want us? I think not. Next week we will work on adding these interviews into our highlight film to add a comical effect in the film. Our long term goal is to get all the extra film in the video in the next two weeks. This will include the celebration, fire truck ride, and banner unveiling. We believe that these things will add a lot to the video. I will let you know how this goes!

This week was insanely hard for Aidan and I. As you know, we are creating a highlight reel for the season, and we're supposed to have 8 weeks to do it. Last week, Coach Regan texted us and asked if we could finish a film for the upcoming end of the season awards banquet on Sunday. Pressed for time, we worked tirelessly all week to get the film done. This included watching every play of every game, which took about 5 hours between the two of us. Then, we had to add all of those plays to the program we were using. This took another 5 hours.  Then came the frustrating part. After all that work, Aidan's computer and the program couldn't function with all the information entered into it. We went to the high school to see if we could enter it into one of those computers, but it didn't work as all the information was on Aidan's computer. We tried to use a flash drive to transfer the plays, but the program said we would have to start all over if we did. The banquet was i...

Hello Everyone! For this Genius hour project Aidan and I have decided to create a highlight film to commemorate our State Championship run. We will collect highlights, combine and edit them, and then ultimately put them together with music. Our plan is to then burn the film on to discs and distribute them to our teammates so they too can look back and remember all the memories we made together. In the first week, we created a group chat for our teammates to comment their best plays in. We believe that once we have all the plays picked out, most of our project will be spent editing them. We have also brainstormed some songs that we wanted in there. Songs like "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" by the Beastie Boys and "Kickstart My Heart" by Motley Crue are two great choices football films, and they will bring back memories for many guys as we listened to these songs everyday in lifting. Our next move is to put all the highlight films into categories such as big hits, long ...

This week I have focused on refining my skills and making sure that the solving is down to muscle memory. I have spent some time thinking about what my presentation will be about, and I think most of it will be focused around perseverance when frustration strikes. Anyways, I want to thank you all for following me on my Rubik's cube quest, and I hope I have inspired you to solve one in the future!
